January 1 of each year marks our anniversary and this year, 2011, COTTONWOOD begins its 17th year of serving the quilting and sewing community. That’s what keeps us going!
COTTONWOOD is Charlottesville’s premier quilting shop, as well as the areas exclusive BERNINA Dealer. We offer the full range of BERNINA sergers, sewing and embroidery machines, accessories and software. We provide you with Machine Mastery classes to fully learn and appreciate the many exclusive BERNINA features and how to use these features and accessories for the creative sewing you do. We continue to support you with Virtual Clubs, hosted by BERNINA educators – Bernina Sewing Club, All About Me – Machine Embroidery, and Software Sampler; and Clubs hosted by our staff members – 2 Embroidery Clubs, a Sew Club and Software Workshop. Our on-site technicians offer service and repair for all brands of machines in addition to BERNINA. We carry Horn, Koala and Roberts cabinets to make your sewing area complete.
We offer quality fabrics – 100% cottons, flannels, homespuns and wools from companies such as Benartex, Hoffman, Moda, P & B, Timeless Treasures just to name a few. You will find approximately 2500 bolts of fabric, over 400 book and patterns titles and a complete line of quilting and sewing supplies. In addition to quilting, we offer a selection of garment patterns for kids and adults alike and garment kits from Project Sewing Workshop.
If you haven’t already, mark your calendar for the 12th Annual Tour de Quilt, central Virginias Quilt Shop Hop, October 6 – 10, 2011. Conveniently located in Charlottesville, less than a mile from the University of Virginia, COTTONWOOD is home to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.
