Spring has come to COTTONWOOD!
There were times this winter when we doubted if we would ever see spring again. And, yes, Charlottesville broke its own previous snow record, which left our ground moist for spring flowers. We are seeing the results, not only in the gardens and landscaping around Charlottesville, but also in the many quilts our local quilters have brought in for show and for quilting services. I actually got a little snow sewing in myself! But spring has brought lots of you out and about and COTTONWOOD has been busy!
You will find evidence of spring in the fabric collections – Eden by Lila Tueller, Martinique by 3 Sisters, and what could be more spring-like than eggs and birds from Deb Strain in Cherish Nature. French Lace Batiks from Moda, The Elements 1 Collection of batiks from Benartex and Pompeian from Princess Mirah for Bali Fabrics make you think of warm weather, sunshine and far-off places. And we’ve just received new Tonga batiks from Timeless Treasures. While it is hard to pick a favorite, because it changes every day with each new box of fabric, I am totally smitten with A Breath of Avignon, American Jane’s French Provincial collection from Moda. Check out a few of our favorite quilt kits: Charity, Collections for a Cause; Fire; Garden Party; Picnic Pinwheel; and Second Hand Clothes. Come in, call or e-mail to start one of these quilt treasures today.
Be sure to check out our class line-up for May, June and July. You may come-in, call or e-mail us to register for classes. Let us know what classes you would like offered in the future. We are working on the August and fall schedules now. We also offer private classes and are always happy to put together a class for you and two or more friends.
As Charlottesville’s exclusive Bernina Dealer, we offer sales of Bernina sergers, sewing and embroidery machines. Isn’t it time you came in to see what a Bernina machine will do for you and your creative sewing or go to www.berninausa.com . In addition to Bernina, we service all brands of sergers, sewing and embroidery machines. We offer a variety of classes including machine mastery and new techniques for quilting, sewing, serging and machine embroidery.
We hope your spring and summer travels bring you to Charlottesville and especially to COTTONWOOD, central Virginia’s premier destination for quilting, sewing and all things Bernina. Plans for the 11th Annual Tour de Quilt are underway. Make your plans to participate this year – October 14, 15, 16 and 17, 2010. Visit www.tourdequilt.com for more info. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy this snippet of COTTONWOOD!
