Skill Details: | This class will introduce you to the techniques of quilting as you make a small machine pieced & quilted project.
You will learn about fabric selection, rotary cutting, following pattern instructions, machine piecing, pressing, quilting and binding. We will complete this project in this class. Students will choose fabrics in class. |
Requirements: | Supplies needed:
Sewing machine in good working condition power cord foot pedal bobbins needles All Purpose Sewing Foot: 1/4" Foot (Walking Foot-optional) Cutting mat Rotary Cutter Thread to blend with fabrics Basic sewing kit: Pins Seam Ripper thread snips or small scissors marking pencil You may use a Cottonwood Bernina Sewing Machine but need to let staff know 2 days in advance of the class. If you don't have any sewing items we can provide everything. Please let staff know in advance. |

Instructor Bio: | Nola returned from "a 3 year retirement" after having been many years on staff. Her earliest memory of using a sewing machine was hemming flannel squares for a new baby in the house - at the age of 5! She made her first quilt in college in 1973. She lives in southern Albemarle County with her husband, horses, dogs - and llamas. |
