Winter Woodland Paper Piecing w/Marilyn

In this class you will learn paper piecing techniques with Marilyn to make adorable woodland animals to make into gift bags, totes, quilts, tree skirts and more! Projects are from the book "Sew a Winter Woodland Christmas" by Mary Hertel - Mix & Match 20 Paper-Pieced Blocks and 9 Projects including a lap quilt, tree skirt, apron, pillow, table runner, zippy pouches, stockings and a gift bag.  Students will learn techniques and pick a paper-piecing block from the book to complete in class.  You will then take home and finish the block into your preferred project.  Let us know if you would like a Part 2 class to construct the project of your choice.  Students will have  a short break for lunch.

Supply list:

Sewing Machine in good working condition, power cord, foot pedal, bobbins & needles
Rotary cutter, small mat, ruler
All-purpose foot, 1/4" foot
Thread to blend with fabrics
Basic sewing kit--pins, seam ripper, thread snips, marking pencil
Fabric/Supplies for Project
Book (available at COTTONWOOD) "Sew a Winter Woodland Christmas" by Mary Hertel
1/4" ruler
Mini iron and pad
Fabric paste (optional)

Instructor Bio: Marilyn has the longest time on staff. She loves teaching, and her specialty is totes. Her students leave well-pleased and with a new friend! She enjoys sewing for friends and family, and donates many items to The Arc of the Piedmont and Area 3 Special Olympics for fundraising events.
