How to Make Dresdens



This technique class will teach you how to make many variations of Dresdens.  Petals, pointed or rounded ends, one color or multiple fabrics per petal.  Centers can be round or square or non at all.  Tips on appliqueing the Dresdens to the background will be discussed.

Supplies needed:

Rotary cutter & mat
Sewing machine in good working condition, power cord, foot pedal, bobbins, needles
All-purpose foot, 1/4" foot, open toe or applique foot
Thread to blend with fabrics (80/100 wt. for applique)
Basic sewing kit - pins, seam ripper, thread snips, marking pencil
Pieces of non-fusible interfacing

To make the Sampler you will need:
Approx. 1 yard of assorted fabric to make Dresdens

Optional:  Dresden Quilt Blocks Reimagined by Candyce Copp Grisham (C & T Publishing)
Prairie Pointer Pressing Template if you have one
Any patterns & rulers you have for Dresdens as reference
